Kuo says: Next iPhone SE Coming in 2022, with 5G and processor upgrades

Next model of the iPhone SE won’t appear until the first half of 2022, according to a recent research note by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Early reports suggested that the 3rd-generation iPhone SE could appear in early 2021. However, later reports suggested that it would not be available until the second quarter or even before 2022. There’s been speculation about an even larger “iPhone SE Plus” version and potential improvements like a front-facing display with the Touch ID power button rather than a Home button; however, Kuo’s note from last week indicates that the next model won’t have any obvious improvements.

According to Kuo, The next iPhone SE will be like the current model;

The design of the exterior and many specifications are comparable to the previous 4.7-inch I Phone SE. The main difference is that it will accommodate 5G and processor upgrades. The new I Phone SE was introduced in April 2020 and is based heavily on iPhone 8 with a few tweaks. I Phone 8 but with improved internals, such as an A13 processor from I Phone 11. Kuo says he believes in the possibility that iPhone user experience would “significantly enhance” should Apple would adopt the Touch ID power button as was previously speculated to be coming with the new iPhone SE Kuo says Kuo is unable to provide “no knowledge of the exact date” to adopt the feature.
